Statement

Labademic is a medical laboratory company. We offer expert education on various laboratory techniques, inspection, optimization, and management.We aspire to empower, educate, and attract new leaders in laboratory medicine through our outreach agenda, highlighting the career opportunities in this healthcare field.

Long Term Vision

 

In a constantly-evolving healthcare landscape, my long-term vision for Labademic, LLC involves addressing regional policies that restrict funding to laboratories to improve wage-gap issues and workforce shortages nationwide.

In 2013, I joined a local non-profit organization located in Philadelphia that serves homeless populations locally and globally. It allowed me to participate in several medical mission trips to Africa. This experience opened my eyes to an often overlooked yet indispensable deficit in healthcare delivery: the lack of reliable diagnostic testing and laboratory facilities. Healthcare workers in the region provided care blindly. As a result, I hope to contribute to my long-term vision by implementing the following:

  • Spearheading the improvement of laboratory medicine in Africa by developing a pathology laboratory to serve regional hospitals

  • Develop a six-month histotech certificate program to teach proper histopathology techniques in Africa

  • Bolster laboratory employment in Africa by increasing job offers to students upon completing the histotech certificate program.

  • Implement the use of telepathology to help examine complex pathology cases in rural areas in Africa

  • Promote the use of drones to facilitate specimen collection and delivery in regions with limited access to big cities
